Casting is the technique of producing products by casting a liquid substance (molten metal) into a form/mould. This technique is very old.
In this way, FLOS can deliver intermediate or finished products.
Casting techniques are now used for a wide variety of products.
Several metals can be used for casting and moulding.
FLOS can supply you with moulded parts in aluminium, bronze, cast iron, steel and stainless steel.
Casting is often the quickest/shortest way to make a product. If the required tolerances and desired surface quality can be achieved, further finishing is not necessary. If these requirements are not achieved, the products must be finished. This is often done by means of machining.
FLOS can supply castings/moulded parts made using to the following production techniques:
- Sand casting
- Coquille casting
- Lost wax casting
